Meet the Author

Malaika Horne, Ph.D., is a writer and journalist. She recently wrote a book, Mother Wit: Exalting Motherhood while Honoring a Great Mother.

Her passion stems from a deep-seated belief that parents are the first teachers of children. When parents instill values and expectations from an early age, they help youth become anchored in their identities who are better suited to go on as positive, productive members of society despite the odds.

Malaika is well versed in the topics of parenting, teaching, overcoming racism, and how education plays a role in the development of our youth. She is available for book signings, interviews, special events, conferences, or workshops.
